Dear Fellow Republicans,

We are all overwhelmed by the amount information coming out with regards to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). I just got off of a conference call with the RPT Chairman James Dickey and other statewide County Chairs and stakeholders. Based on the latest CDC recommendations and President Trump requesting all gatherings be limited to no more than 10 persons, we will be moving our County Convention date to sometime in the future. This will require myself and the secretary to stand on the Courthouse steps to open the convention at its appointed time and immediately adjourn the meeting due to an emergency, giving notice that the meeting will be reconvened at a later time to be called by the chair. Based on the current request and guidelines to delay these size gatherings for a minimum of eight weeks from today, that would put our County Convention not being reconvened before May 16, 2020.

The State Party continues to be in contact with the RNC about how these adjustments will affect the State Convention and how that in turn will affect other deadlines and Party Rules. The SREC (State Republican Executive Committee) will be meeting to discuss the State Convention and should have us a a final decision with regards to dates and location on April 4th.

These precautions also require us to cancel our monthly NCRP meetings for both March and April. We will look to hopefully re initiate these beginning the fourth Tuesday of May at the Courthouse Annex. We will do our best to keep you informed. Please continue to check our website for updates. Thank you for your continued support and understanding during these challenging times.

These recommendations may seem excessive to many of us but let’s keep in mind they are temporary and in the best interest of our most vulnerable fellow citizens. I ask that you please continue to pray for our nation and our leaders.

Respectfully,
J. Bradley Reynolds
